Wrestler in the Spotlight: Brandon Griffin
Brandon Griffin of Salem, OR is our Wrestler in the Spotlight. Brandon, who will be a sophomore next year at Sprague High School, is coming off an incredible freshman year. Brandon won the 6A state tournament at 160 pounds for the Olympians. In early April, Brandon went to the Reno Tournament of Champions where you took first place at 160 pounds as well. He then won the Cadet Oregon state freestyle and Greco-roman championships. In June, he went with the All-Phase wrestling team to Pocatello, Idaho for the Western Regional where he won the gold medal in freestyle, Greco, and collegiate style. In July, Brandon wrestled in Fargo, North Dakota at the Cadet Nationals and became an All-American in both Greco and Freestyle, placing 4th and 8th respectively. Congratulations to Brandon Griffin for a great year of wrestling and being a champion on and off the mat.
